FAQ

Muddy Puppy Farm dog bath

Q: What are your hours for grooming?

A: All of our grooming services are by appointment only, Tuesday through Saturday, 11am-4pm. Our small grooming spa is located in a separate building on our residential farm. We ask that you call to request a tour, drop off paperwork, request an appointment etc. because we live here as well as work here.

Q: How do I book a grooming or boarding reservation at Muddy Puppy Farm?

A: You can book an appointment by calling/texting us or visiting our website. Every client must complete an online registration by visiting our Client Portal in the menu bar. There you will provide basic information on you, your veterinarian and your pet(s), upload vaccinations records, sign our Grooming Waiver and answer some important questions about your pet(s) so we can get to know them prior to their visit. We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure availability.

Q: What are the boarding requirements at Muddy Puppy Farm?
A: We require all new dogs to spend the day with us before being accepted for boarding. This is to ensure we can provide the best possible care for your furry friend and that both the dog and pet parent are comfortable with our services. We want to assure the owner that the dog will have a good boarding experience and will not be stressed. The acclimation experience allows the dog to have a positive experience and assures the owner their dog will be cared for with love while they are away. Vaccine requirements must be met and there is a $12.00 charge for the day. We only require this for boarding clients.  You can request this online under Trial Lodging Day. Each dog has a unique personality and distinctive temperaments. We want to make sure that we are a match for your dog and you. Leaving your dog for a 4-hour period then returning to pick them up makes the experience less scary when they board. They know you will return for them, and they enjoy their boarding easier. We prefer to do this acclimation day Monday – Thursday but will be happy to work with and around everyone’s busy schedules.

We do not allow dogs in heat.
• We do not accept aggressive dogs; we must be able to handle and feed the dog.
• We do not accept excessive barkers: this is stressful to not only the barker, but to the other guests as well.

• We do not accept dogs that harm cats or birds. We are a farm and have several barn cats, Guinea hens and we will have chickens in the spring of 2024. All of our animals are part of our family, and we need to keep them safe as well.

Q: What happens if my dog is not handling the boarding experience well?
A: At Muddy Puppy Farm, the wellbeing and safety of your pet is our top priority. If your dog is not handling the boarding experience well, we will notify you immediately so that we can work together to find a solution. Our goal is to make sure that your pet is happy and healthy while they are in our care.

Q: What is individual turn-out and why is it important?

A: Individual turn-out means that your dog will be let out in our large, fenced in play yard to play, exercise and potty rather than being in a group. This helps to ensure their safety and prevent any potential conflicts with other dogs. All dogs have supervision and one-on-one interaction while being turned out.
