Gentle, stress-free grooming designed around your dog.

Q: What are your hours for grooming?
A: **WINTER HOURS** Grooming is by appointment only, Tuesday–Saturday, between 10am–34pm. Because my grooming spa is part of our home, I kindly ask that you text when you arrive, and I’ll meet you in the drive.
Q: How do I schedule a grooming appointment?
A: Please register through the Client Portal before requesting your first appointment. Once you’ve uploaded vaccination records, signed waivers, and completed your pet’s profile, you can request available dates. I’ll confirm your appointment by email or text.
Q: Why do I need to answer questions during registration?
A: Because I groom alone, it’s important for me to know your dog’s personality, behavior, and needs before confirming an appointment. The Client Portal Q&A helps me make sure your pup will be comfortable here and that I can provide safe, one-on-one care.
I cannot accept dogs that show aggression, as my focus is on keeping every visit stress-free and safe for your dog.
Q: What vaccinations are required for grooming?
A: For everyone’s safety, I require Rabies, DAPP (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, parvovirus), Bordetella, and proof of current flea/tick prevention. Pets must also be worm-free.
Q: What are your priorities when grooming at Muddy Puppy Farm?
A: My top priorities are always safety and comfort. I never want a dog to leave feeling stressed, fearful, or traumatized. Grooming should be a positive experience, and keeping dogs on a regular schedule (instead of waiting 4–6 months between visits) is key to helping them feel relaxed and comfortable with the process.
Because I groom alone, I focus 100% of my attention on the dog in front of me. That’s why I ask all clients to register and request appointments online through the Client Portal. I do not answer calls while grooming — this allows me to give each pup the calm, one-on-one care they deserve.
Q: What if my dog is matted?
A: If a brush and comb cannot reach the skin, the coat is considered matted. Light matting may be brushed out, but if the matting is severe, a shave-down/reset will be recommended for your dog’s comfort. I will never shave without your consent.
Q: Do you offer de-matting services?
A: Light de-matting may be possible at $5 per 30 minutes, but heavily matted coats will not be brushed out for safety and comfort reasons.
Q: What is included in a Full Groom?
A: A bath, blowout, haircut to breed standard or pet preference, nail trim, paw pad trim, sanitary trim, ear cleaning, and finishing spray.
Q: My dog hates nail trims or the blow dryer. Can you still groom them?
A: Yes, I work with many dogs who are anxious about grooming. There are several ways to help:
-
Your vet can prescribe a light sedative, or you may try natural options such as Busy Butter, hemp, or CBD treats. I have some natural options that I can give them too with your consent for an additional $1 per dose.
-
More frequent visits for nails and grooms help desensitize dogs to handling and dryers.
-
I sometimes use my 4×6 kennels as a kennel dryer with safe ventilation—dogs are never left unattended, and I monitor closely to prevent overheating.
-
At home, you can gently play with your dog’s paws, brush regularly, or even use an electric toothbrush near their legs/paws so they get used to the vibration of clippers.
-
Please don’t try to “train” with a leaf blower or chase them with a vacuum—this can increase fear.
With patience, consistency, and teamwork, most dogs can be desensitized over time. Grooming really starts at home with daily care and education, and I’ll always share tips that help make each visit smoother.
Q: Do you accept puppies for grooming?
A: Yes—puppies are welcome, but they must be on a regular schedule every 4–6 weeks. The focus in the beginning is not about a perfect haircut, but about slowly introducing them to the process:
-
Bathing and drying
-
Nail trims and pad trims
-
Standing on the table and learning restraint with a Trach Saver (I don’t use neck loops on most dogs)
-
Getting comfortable with clippers, scissors, and having their face handled
Consistent, frequent visits are essential for confidence and safety as your puppy grows. Puppy parents are welcome to text me, and I’ll call to go over everything and provide a price point.
Q: Why are detailed answers required in the Client Portal?
A: I groom solo from my home studio. Thorough info (coat care, behavior, health) lets me prepare properly and keep every appointment safe and low-stress.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Frequent no-shows or last-minute cancellations may require pre-payment before your next booking.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes! Military members, veterans, and first responders always receive 15% off grooming services. I also run occasional promotions — follow Muddy Puppy Farm on social media for updates.
Q: When is payment due?
A: Payment is due in full at pick-up. I accept cash, Venmo, or Zelle.
Q: Can I tour the grooming space?
A: Tours are available by appointment on slower days. I also provide a short video or virtual tour upon request.
